No Chance

When two people box, no mater the odds, there is a distinct chance for either of them to win. But—there’s times when it is most unlikely, and this is one of those times.

The most difficult opponent for a boxer to face isna’t always the one that’s a lot bigger, stronger, or faster, for she is also very different—and those differences can be exploited. I can get inside the reach of the bigger, stronger boxer, or keep the short, solid brick at the end of my punches, and thus avoid her. The quick one can be pinned against the ropes and hammered—the ponderous but strong one can be picked apart. Even if the opponent’s also more skilled, there are differences that can lead to victory—though if the skill difference is large, defeat is almost always the result.

The most difficult opponent, however, can be one that’s about the same size and build—but just plain better at the game. It’s even worse if the styles are similar-and if she has any other advantages—speed, power, a better chin—defeat is almost inevitable.

This is the case here—Melissa’s close to my size, and about to fight for the title—much more experienced and skilled. Being younger, she’s also got speed—and this girl is STRONG! In short, she’s going to punch the living daylights out of me unless I get very lucky.

For an idea of what that means, check “Nylisha’s Big Mistake.” (She likes to hurt people, then have fun...)

Note—if anyone’s wondering why I’m drawing myself in this situation, it’s threefold.
1. I’m trying to draw, over time, myself in comparison to all my characters
2. I'll box almost anyone, and irl have taken on people that I shouldn't have.
3. It’s sort of reflecting the way I feel about work—I’m getting beat up bad.

I’ll likey draw the whole fight over time.
